Highlights from the last RST Day in the Park for 2023:

Attendance and Grass Salad Delight: Despite the cooler temperatures, we had a solid turnout with 12 attendees, including a YL who delighted us with grass salad snacks. Not to worry, the grass was sourced from the area around the ramada. (hihi)

Tennis Ball Launcher Acrobatics: Paul showcased his skills with the tennis ball launcher, sending a ball soaring into a palm tree. Kudos to Paul for the impressive shot – it added a touch of excitement to our day.

Innovative Counterpoise Solution: A member ingeniously addressed a counterpoise wire issue by using window screen material. This resourceful fix demonstrated the problem-solving spirit of our group.

Warmth by the BBQ: To combat the cold, we gathered around a charcoal fire at the BBQ, providing a cozy spot to warm our fingers and share stories.

Antenna and Radio Achievements: A total of 5 antennas and radios were successfully installed, tested, and tuned.

Artistic Touch with Caution Tape: In a creative endeavor, caution tape was used to decorate the trees, adding a festive and distinctive flair to our park setup, as well as providing a nice “safety” touch.

Looking Ahead to Next Year: The event concluded on a high note, with everyone expressing enthusiasm about repeating the experience next year. It was a fantastic way to close out the year and set the stage for future gatherings.

In summary, our “Days in the Park” event was a delightful mix of technical exploration, creativity, and shared enjoyment of our radio hobby. Thank you to all who participated, and we look forward to more memorable events in the coming year.
