There were a record number of hams at the Day in the Park (Reid Park Ramada 22), despite walking around the city construction crew putting in a new grill. Joe, K3TYE and Les, WD6ERS provided a friendly welcome. And it was good to see Don, KD7UIZ with the delicious pizza!

One highlight was trying out Lloyd’s (K7NX) “Amazing Tennis Ball Antenna Launcher.” It is impressive how high and far a tennis ball can go with 40 lbs of air pressure behind it! Lloyd helped get a long wire antenna up and over a very tall Palm tree. He also let anyone who wanted to give it a “shot”, pull the trigger. Very cool! Thanks Lloyd!

Joe, K3TYE, brought his laptop and helped Barbara get her new handheld programmed with repeater settings. Kirk, W0PSN, brought his antenna, and helped anyone who needed a hand. Andrew, KJ7ZTI, stopped by with his FT-70 and that British accent! Nice to meet you in person Andrew!

I didn’t record all the activities, but everyone seemed to be having a great time! Thanks to those who attended. If you get a chance, stop by the next RST Day in the Park on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. See you Then!
